Southeast Pittsburgh is a steel region whose economy and population levels have been decimated in the past 30 years. Clairton is a small city in that region of special interest to me because the movie “The Deer Slayer” was set there, though it was not filmed there. It’s population of 6,796 is a third of what it once was.
